A new version (V5.2) of the Merchant Application is ready. Soon, your merchant application forms will be updated to this new version.

 

New updates include restrictions on Payment acceptance selection, new fields, and a minimal change in the pricing layout. This update is necessary to ensure that the appropriate information and product configurations are captured from the merchant for a smoother delivery of onboarding and pricing.

 

Update 1: Payment Acceptance selection restrictions (current)

Nuvei ANZ implemented the restrictions to ensure data integrity and eliminate potential data entry errors. There are 2 major causes to current data errors:

 

Scenario 1: Merchant selecting options without notifying the partner

  • With the current application form, merchants can select payment methods or card schemes beyond what the offer issuer (either the partner or Nuvei) has approved.
  • When this happens, new pricing fields automatically appear for those additional selections.
  • As merchants may not have the correct pricing details, they might leave these fields blank or enter incorrect values, leading to configuration errors for Nuvei and Partner.

 

Scenario 2: Merchant deselects options without notifying the partner

  • Merchants can also deselect payment methods or card schemes that were originally pre-selected by the offer issuer.
  • If this occurs, all related pricing data is left blank from the setup, which can also result in configuration issues.

 

Impact:

  • Incorrect or missing pricing data can cause errors in the merchant’s setup within Nuvei's system.
  • These errors may delay the onboarding process, requiring manual review or correction.
  • Partners may experience additional back-and-forth communication to resolve configuration discrepancies before the merchant can go live.

 

The restriction will limit the potential data entry error as a result of unaligned offer decisions between the new merchant, partner and Nuvei.

 

Update 2: There will be new fields available, see below list:

 

Union Pay Acceptance - Instore Only

Union Pay acceptance is now available on Nuvei Funding. Reach out to find out how this can be enabled for your existing merchants and find the best rate to offer. 

 

Alipay Fee Transfer Model and Surcharges (new)

When Alipay is selected for scheme acceptance, a new prompt for the ‘Fee Transfer Model’ will appear. The Merchant will have the option to select from ‘Customer Pays’ or ‘Merchant Pays’. The selection will determine the following:

  • Customer Pays: Surcharges will be enabled to cover the cost of the processing fees. Offer issuer to determine the surcharge value
  • Merchant Pays: Merchant will bear the cost of the processing fees/

 

Loading Fees (new)

  • SBDF Loading Fee - A loading bundled into the Merchant Service Fee, where Nuvei is providing a Same Business Day Funding Settlement facility.
  • 7DF Loading Fee - A loading bundled into the Merchant Service Fee, where Nuvei is providing a 7Days Funding Settlement facility.
  • Velocity Loading Fee - A loading bundled into the Merchant Service Fee for Merchants signed up for a Velocity Program. 

 

Term of Contract (update)

  • Available for selection:
    • 12 Months
    • 24 Months
    • 36 Months (default)

 

 

Minimum Merchant Service Fee (new)

  • A fixed dollar fee is applied monthly, when the actual MSF is less than the minimum MSF amount.  In cases where the minimum fee is charged, the actual (lesser) MSF is not charged. This fee will also determine the actual ‘Early Termination Fee’ as per the Nuvei Terms & Conditions guide.

 

Other Pricing Fees (new/update):

  • Credit & Debit Transaction Fee (per transaction fee)
    • A fixed cents per transaction fee will be applied for every settled Credit & Debit transaction.  Credit and Debit transactions are billed as separate line items on the merchant statement

 

  • Tokenisation Fee (per transaction fee)
    • A fee will be charged per gateway transaction where the transaction type is 'register'.  It is used to cover the costs associated with tokenising a card.  This is in addition to the Gateway fee per transaction charge

 

  • Urgent Installation (one-off fee)
    • A one-off fixed dollar fee will be charged when an urgent installation is required. This is charged at the MID level.

 

  • Other Fees & Details
    • An additional fixed dollar fee will be charged for other fees not specified in the application form.

 

 

Update 3: Pricing Layout Change (new)

The new fee grouping and structure change improve the readability of the pricing and fees for both the Salesperson and Merchant. New fee groupings are as follows:

  1. Pricing Model
  2. In Store Merchant Service Fees – Scheme processing fees for In Store accounts
  3. Online Merchant Service Fees – Scheme processing fees for Online accounts
  4. Alipay Merchant Service Fees – Alipay Processing Fees for Online Only accounts
  5. Speciality Service Fee/s - Loading Fees for Funding, Velocity, and Domestic and International Card Types, 
  6. General Term – Term of Contract and Early Termination Fee
  7. Payment Processing Fee/s - Per Transaction Fees
  8. General Fees – Account & Product Fees

 

 

FAQS:

  1. Do you, as Nuvei's partner, need to do anything?
    • No, all updates will be automatic. You will receive an email notification when the update for your Merchant Application is implemented. 
  2. Will the current Offers still be active?
    • Yes, for any Offers already created these will stay in the version that was available at the time it was created. There will be no impact on the current offer.
  3. Will you, as Nuvei's partner, still be able to use the old version to create offers?
    • No, once the latest version has been activated, only this package will be available. 
  4. Will the default information and pricing need to be set up again?
    • All information and pricing defaults will be transferred to the new version.
