The tipping feature can be disabled or enabled depending on the merchant agreement. When the feature is enabled, the purchase transaction may request for a Tip. The following screens can be observed when the tipping capability is enabled:
Initiate a Purchase transaction on the main menu.
Insert the transaction amount and press Done.
The terminal will prompt the customer to add a tip to the transaction. Press Yes to proceed with adding a tip.
The screen shows the initial purchase transaction, the tip selected and the new total amount. Select the tip amount or Other Amount and press Next.
Add the tip amount if you select Other Amount and press Done.
Request your customer to present their card on the contactless card reader.
Once the card has been presented, the terminal will start processing the transaction.
When transaction is processed on the terminal, it will be sent to the card issuer (Host) for approval.
The terminal will advise if the transaction has been approved.
